How To Draw A Camel: Simple And Easy

The camel is an animal with even toes frequently observed in roaming deserts. Contrary to common perception, the camel’s hump does not retain water but fat.

It is why camels can survive without food for extended periods. We decided to develop a lesson on drawing a camel so that everyone may enjoy its beauty up close. Camels live in hot, arid environments; therefore, we seldom encounter them in the wild.

We have produced a step-by-step guide on drawing a camel, broken down into 9 simple parts. In addition, each step is accompanied by a picture that serves as a visual aid as you do each step.

Enjoy drawing a magnificent camel!

Step By Step Guide On How To Draw A Camel

Step 1:

Draw an uneven sideways zig-zag pattern on the upper left side of the page to begin.

It constitutes the head of the camel. Don’t forget to create a curving line that overlaps on the bottom left portion of the shape to represent the camel’s mouth.

To guarantee that the camel is drawn in the middle of the paper, you may add reference lines by drawing intersecting horizontal and vertical lines.

These instructions will divide your paper into four rectangles. The area in the upper left corner of the page indicates where the camel’s head outline should be drawn.

Step 2:

Underneath the head, draw an extended, thin, curving shape to depict the camel’s long neck.

Then, create the body form with a massive bulge at the top—one of the camel’s most distinctive physical characteristics!

Remember to use delicate strokes when sketching the head and body of the camel. Avoid applying excessive pressure with your pencil so that you may erase portions of the outline that you may no longer require in the future.

Step 3:

Then draw the legs of the camel as shown in the figure below.

Step 4:

Connect the legs with the body and the lines to draw the complete outline of the camel.

Draw a long, thin line with a hairy tuft at the end immediately connected to the camel’s lower back. It is the tail of the camel.

Drawing the tail is as simple as creating two parallel lines, and the hairy tuft is as simple as drawing an upside-down droplet. Don’t forget to add texture by drawing fine line strokes on the point of the hairy tuft!

Step 5:

Then, add some final details to the camel drawing. As shown in the picture, you can do so by drawing a line on the camel’s body and decorating its bottom.

Step 6:

Draw other decor stuff on the camel’s body to make it look realistic. Don’t forget to check the reference image!

Step 7:

Now that we’ve designed a camel successfully, it’s time for the most exciting thing. We will finally be painting the camel!

Camels have mainly yellow coats with a greyish tint. You may choose to paint the camel in its original hue or a new one! We propose the second option so that you may personalize your artwork.

You may also build a multicolored camel by using more than one hue. Your choice of colors is totally up to you! Have fun experimenting with hues! Start outlining the yellow color on the camel’s head and tail, as shown in the image.

Step 8:

Fill yellow color in the camel’s whole body except the decor stuff we added in the previous step.

Step 9:

We used orange and pink colors to make the camel’s drawing look beautiful. You can choose colors according to your choice.
