How To Draw A Bed: Simple And Easy Tutorial

Few furnishings are more welcoming after a long day than a comfortable bed. Beds are available in various sizes and forms, and there is a model to meet every requirement and preference!

Beds, regardless of their appearance, are fantastic places to sleep and rest, and understanding how to sketch a bed may help you visualize your ideal version.

With so many options available, choosing a style for your bed design might be difficult, making it difficult to learn how to draw a bed.

Fortunately, that is precisely what this guide is here to assist you with! Our 10-step lesson on sketching a bed will demonstrate how enjoyable and simple it can truly be.

Step By Step Guide On How To Draw A Bed

Step 1:

We will begin this lesson on designing a bed by drawing the bed’s foot. You may use a ruler to ensure that the edges of the two square pillars on either end are straight.

You may also add notches to them to give them the appearance of being made of wood.

Then, we will insert the wooden part between these pillars. You may use a straight line for the base of this section’s center, followed by curved lines for the section’s upper edges.

You may even add minor notches to them to give them a wooden appearance. Then you’ll be prepared for the second phase of the guide!

Step 2:

In the subsequent step of your bed drawing, we will add additional wood grain to the footboard. To begin, we’re going to draw a shape within the flat center area of the foot.

This form will have straight-edged sides, a base, and a curved apex. It will give it the same form as the rest of this area of the bed.

After drawing this shape, we will create the illusion of nailed-together wooden planks.

Draw several horizontal lines near one another, then add some vertical lines. Also, draw another pillar of the bed as shown in the image. Draw several dots for the nails that hold the boards together before moving on to step 3 of the tutorial.

Step 3:

In this phase of our lesson on how to design a bed, the bed’s foot has been sketched, so we can begin creating the center area.

Use some curved lines for the sides of the blanket draped over the bed; these lines will also serve as the contour of the entire middle part.

As it is designed to resemble cloth, these lines should be drawn freehand with some undulation.

Then, draw curved lines near the end to depict the blanket folding back on itself. Add some undulating lines inside the blanket’s outline to create more fold textures, and then we can go on.

In the following phase, you will add some pillows and a foundation to your bed drawing. First, draw a straight line to act as the wooden base along the base of where the blankets finish.

Next, sketch a second thin wooden pillar on the other side of the bed. This one will closely resemble those you sketched at the foot of the bed.

Step 4:

Draw two rectangles as shown in the reference image to make the frame on the wall.

Step 5:

Add a heart shape in the frame that we have drawn in the previous step to make it look realistic and classy. Outline the whole bed with a dark black marker to make it look realistic.

Step 6:

You may add color to this portion of your bed drawing. In our example image, we demonstrated how we would color the image.

We utilized a variety of hues for the blankets, pillows, and mattress, as well as browns for the wooden elements.

However, these are only a few of the hues you might choose! In your drawing, you should feel free to use any colors or materials that complement the subject the best.

How will you use color to bring this artwork to life? Fill yellow color in the blanket to make it look bright.

Step 7:

Fill green color in the bed’s top as shown in the reference image.

Step 8:

Fill the same green color in the bottom section of the blanket to give it a proper shade.

Step 9:

Fill light purple color in pillow and frame on the wall. Also, fill the red color in the frame’s heart, as shown in the image below.

Step 10:

Add yellow color to the background and add multiple shades of colors in the whole drawing, as shown in the reference picture.

Conclusion
